Chapter 6 - The Bloodline Revealed

"Marcus!" Jack roared, his voice booming across the entire athletic field like a cannon shot.

Marcus Vance spun around, his arrogant smile vanishing instantly into absolute, gut-wrenching terror. He hadn't expected Jack to follow him. He had planned to use the boy as leverage to force Jack out of the club leadership, securing the Vipers' multi-million-dollar criminal empire for himself.

"Jack! Wait—I was just explaining the situation to the kid!" Marcus stammered, stumbling backward as the Harley skidded to a halt in a cloud of torn grass and dirt.

Jack killed the engine, leaped off the heavy bike before it even finished settling on its kickstand, and crossed the distance between them in three massive strides.

He didn't yell. He didn't issue a warning.

Jack brought his massive, iron-like fist up in a blindingly fast arc, catching Marcus squarely across the jaw. The impact sounded like a baseball bat hitting a side of beef. Marcus flew backward through the air, crashing hard against the metal bleachers and sliding down into the dirt, completely unconscious, blood pooling from his split lip.

Ethan stood frozen, staring at the biker who had just shattered a man’s jaw with a single punch.

Jack turned around slowly, his chest heaving, his massive shoulders trembling as his cold, dead eyes finally landed on Ethan. The terrifying rage in his face melted away in an instant, replaced by a devastating, broken vulnerability that made him look suddenly old, tired, and deeply human.

"Ethan..." Jack whispered, his voice cracking. "I didn't want you to find out this way. I swear to God, I didn't want you dragged into this filth."

Ethan backed away, his hands raised defensively. "Stay away from me! Who are you people?! What did that man mean when he said you're my great-uncle?!"

Jack stopped, holding his hands out palms-up in a universal gesture of surrender. He reached into his leather vest, pulled out the silver wolf pendant Ethan had returned the night before, and held it out.

"I'm your blood, Ethan," Jack said, his voice thick with unexpressed tears. "Your great-uncle Jack. Your grandmother Clara was my sister. My father threw her out into the cold twenty years ago because she loved a good man and refused our life of crime. I let him do it. I stood by and watched our family get torn apart by greed and blood."

Jack took a slow step forward, his eyes shining with wet intensity.

"When you brought me back that necklace last night... you didn't just return a piece of metal. You returned my soul. You showed me that even though you grew up with nothing, you have more honor in your little finger than my entire club possesses."

Ethan looked at the silver wolf pendant, then up at the terrifying biker outlaw who was currently weeping openly in the morning sun. The pieces of the puzzle—his mother’s quiet sorrow, the missing history of his family, the strange, instant connection he had felt in the roadhouse parking lot—all violently clicked into place.

"My mom..." Ethan whispered, his voice trembling. "Does she know?"

"She knows the lies my father told her," Jack said softly. "She thinks her family abandoned her. But today... today we're going to fix it. All of it."
