Chapter 7 - The Restitution Fund

The federal asset forfeiture division working alongside the Department of Justice successfully seized over four hundred million dollars in hidden assets, offshore real estate holdings, and luxury accounts belonging to Daniel Cross and his co-conspirators.
Under the direct supervision of the newly appointed federal restitution board—advised by retired Supreme Court justices and ethical watchdogs—every single dollar recovered was systematically redirected into a newly established trust: The Sanctuary Foundation for Trafficking Survivors.
The foundation immediately began funding safehouses, trauma-recovery clinics, vocational training centers, and legal defense funds for victims of corporate exploitation across North America.
Emily Vance was unanimously appointed as the executive director of the foundation, utilizing her intimate knowledge of corporate shell companies to hunt down and expose other fraudulent organizations operating under the guise of charity.

During an inaugural ribbon-cutting ceremony for the foundation's primary recovery center in Chicago, Emily stood before a crowd of hundreds of survivors, donors, and federal officials.
"We cannot erase the past," Emily told the gathered crowd, her voice ringing with triumphant grace. "We cannot undo the suffering inflicted by men who traded human lives for corporate gain. But we can build a fortress of safety around those who survived. We can ensure that no monster in a tailored suit ever goes unchallenged again."
