Chapter 8 - The Sofia Moretti Children's Pavilion
By early summer, the restructuring of Moretti Holdings was complete under Vincent’s visionary, ethical leadership.
The eighty million dollars recovered from Dominic’s seized offshore accounts in Zurich and Panama were reinvested directly into The Sofia & Isabella Moretti Pediatric Speech and Neurological Research Center—a state-of-the-art medical and educational facility constructed on five acres of landscaped parkland overlooking Lake Michigan.
The center provided free, world-class diagnostic therapies, trauma counseling, and specialized assistive communication technology for children suffering from selective mutism, autism, and neurological speech impairments across North America.
On a warm Saturday morning in June, a public dedication ceremony was held outside the newly constructed glass-and-limestone pavilion.
Hundreds of pediatric physicians, therapists, community leaders, and families whose children had found their voices through the foundation gathered under a cloudless sapphire sky to celebrate the grand opening.
In the center of the campus plaza stood a life-sized bronze sculpture of two young girls releasing a flock of white doves into the sky, with an eagle standing watch beside them.
Beside the statue, a polished granite plaque was set into the native stone:

Vincent stood at the outdoor podium in a tailored navy suit, looking out over the cheering crowd with quiet, unshakeable pride. Beside him on the stage sat Isabella, looking radiant in a yellow sundress, and five-year-old Ellie, holding her gray rabbit with a bright pink ribbon tied around its ear.
Vincent stepped up to the microphone, his deep baritone carrying clear and steady across the parkland:
"For nearly a year, my house was wrapped in the silence of grief and fear," Vincent addressed the audience. "We believed that the answers could be bought with suitcases of cash and corporate power.
