By early summer, the restructuring of Vance Global Maritime was complete under Sarah’s visionary leadership as Chairman of the Board.
The sixty million dollars recovered from Victor’s seized offshore accounts were reinvested directly into The Caleb Vance Pediatric Heart & Life Foundation—a private philanthropic trust dedicated to providing free, world-class cardiovascular surgeries, medications, and family housing for low-income children suffering from congenital heart disease across North America.
The foundation partnered directly with Columbia University Medical Center and Mount Sinai, establishing mobile pediatric diagnostic clinics that visited underserved neighborhoods in the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Queens every single week.
On a warm Saturday morning in June, a public dedication ceremony was held on the sweeping lawns of the newly restored Bedford estate.
Hundreds of longshoremen, pediatric surgeons, nursing staff, and families whose children had received life-saving surgeries gathered under a cloudless sapphire sky to celebrate the foundation's official launch.
In the center of the lawn stood a beautiful bronze fountain depicting a young boy releasing a white dove into the sky, surrounded by blooming lavender and fragrant white roses.
Beside the fountain, a polished granite plaque was inscribed with gold lettering:
