Chapter 6 - The Cleansing of the Cross Syndicate

At 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, the grand executive boardroom on the sixtieth floor of the Cross Sovereign Tower overlooking Elliott Bay was convened for an emergency plenary session of the international shipping trustees and maritime directors.

The thirty-two senior division directors, deepwater terminal operators, and maritime labor union representatives sat around the sixty-foot mahogany conference table in dead, suffocating silence.

The morning front-page headlines of The Seattle Times and The Wall Street Journal lay spread across the polished table, every banner dominated by the same earth-shattering revelation:

CROSS DYNASTY PURGES CORRUPT FACTION: DAMIAN CROSS AND CHIEF ARCHITECT SLOAN CALLAWAY RECLAIM $85M PUGET SOUND TERMINALS.

When the double frosted-glass doors slid open, every single executive in the room stood up in unison.

Damian Cross walked into the boardroom, dressed in an immaculate bespoke charcoal three-piece suit, his posture radiating total, uncontested dominance.

Walking beside him, holding his hand with quiet, proud confidence, were eight-year-old Hazel and Iris.

Both girls wore navy wool blazers over pleated tartan skirts, their hair brushed neatly, their eyes bright, fearless, and clear.

Following behind them was Sloan Callaway, accompanied by Arthur Ross, Detective Marcus Thorne, and David Sterling, carrying four heavy aluminum Pelican cases containing the unsealed Delaware and Panama forensic ledgers.

Damian walked to the head of the table—the seat his father and grandfather had occupied for six decades. He pulled out the master executive armchair, gently seating Sloan at the center of the board, while placing Hazel and Iris at her right hand, before taking his place standing firmly beside them.

"Good morning, gentlemen," Damian began, his deep baritone cutting through the room with absolute authority. "Item one on today's agenda is the formal, permanent termination of all corporate contracts, joint ventures, and advisory seats previously allocated to Apex Maritime Partners and Viktor Vance."

The directors nodded in rapid, unanimous agreement, every single director signing the emergency restructuring resolutions without a single objection.

"Item two," Damian continued, looking around the table with cold, penetrating clarity. "The eighty-five million dollars in deepwater terminal equity fraudulently encumbered under the Apex foreclosure petitions has been fully restored to the Callaway-Cross Generational Infrastructure Trust."

The room erupted into spontaneous, standing applause.

"And item three," Damian added, turning to Sloan with boundless, unshakeable devotion. "Sloan Callaway is hereby confirmed as Chief Executive Architect and Supreme Fiduciary Trustee of the Puget Sound Maritime and Environmental Design Consortium, with absolute veto authority over all future commercial expansions."

The longshoremen union delegates and terminal directors rose to their feet, their cheers echoing through the high-vaulted glass atrium, sealing the dawn of an unshakeable, unified empire built on honor, loyalty, and truth.

Sloan closed the master leather ledger with a sharp, definitive thud. "The meeting is adjourned. Let's get our terminals built."
