Chapter 6 - The Architect of Peace

By the following year, the memory of the wedding day disaster was nothing more than a distant, faded ghost.
Lucas’s tech firm launched a groundbreaking new software platform that revolutionized global data security, cementing his status not just as a wealthy billionaire, but as a genuine pioneer in his field. Yet, despite his expanding empire, his primary office hours were strictly structured around school drop-offs, soccer practices, and family dinners.
He had learned the hardest lesson a father could learn: no amount of corporate success or social prestige could ever replace the quiet, sacred trust of a child’s love.
On a crisp Friday afternoon in autumn, Lucas sat in his home office reviewing architectural blueprints for a new wing he was privately funding at the city’s children’s hospital—a wing dedicated entirely to pediatric care and family support services.
The intercom on his desk chimed softly.
“Boss,” Marcus announced through the speaker. “You have a visitor at the front security gate. A woman claiming to be Vivienne Vance’s legal counsel, carrying a settlement proposal.”
Lucas didn't look up from his blueprints. He reached out and pressed the talk button.
“Tell her the gates are locked, Marcus. And if she or her client ever attempt to approach this property again, forward the remaining felony evidence packets directly to the state attorney general.”

“Message delivered and understood, Boss. She’s already turning her car around.”
Lucas released the button, picked up his red architectural pen, and continued sketching structural support pillars on the blueprint. The ghosts of the past were firmly locked outside the perimeter.
