Chapter 7 - The Purge of the Syndicate

By three o'clock in the morning, the subterranean command center beneath the Pentagon was operating at full operational capacity.
Over two hundred intelligence analysts, drone operators, and special operations planners sat at tiered workstations beneath massive digital projection walls displaying live satellite tracking from across the globe.
I stood at the central glass podium, dressed in my tailored dark operations suit, my gold directorate credentials displayed on my lapel.
Mark stood beside Captain Callahan near the tactical dispatch desk, witnessing for the first time the true scale of the empire his cousin commanded from the shadows.
"All teams report in position," the senior watch officer announced. "Operation Iron Falcon is go on your command, Director."
I looked at the live drone feeds displaying three offshore yachts anchored in the Mediterranean and a luxury compound outside Geneva where the leaders of the Kronos Syndicate were gathered.
"Execute," I commanded.
Across four time zones, Tier 1 tactical assault teams moved simultaneously with surgical, lethal precision.
On the main screens, satellite feeds captured the coordinated takedown: compound gates breached in seconds, communications jammed, armed sentries neutralized without a single civilian casualty, and the primary syndicate leadership secured in heavy transport chains.
Within forty-two minutes, the multi-billion-dollar criminal network that had operated in the shadows of European commerce for twenty years was completely dismantled.
General Vance stepped up to the podium, handing me an encrypted dispatch folder bearing the presidential seal.
"The President has reviewed the operational report, Director Lin," Vance smiled with deep professional admiration. "Full commendation for the entire division. The threat to our deep-cover assets is entirely neutralized."

I closed the folder, looking over at Mark, who was watching the final status monitors turn from amber to green.
"Good work, team," I said into the central microphone. "Stand down to standard watch protocols."
