Chapter 6 - The Trap is Set

By 3:00 AM, Alexander had executed his counter-offensive.
He didn't alert the board. He didn't issue public statements. Instead, he deployed a custom-built, aggressive crawler script through his private network, targeting Vance Technologies’ primary financial servers. In less than forty minutes, he had frozen every single offshore account, personal trust, and subsidiary holding controlled by Richard Vance.
At the same time, an encrypted text message pinged on Richard’s private phone across the city:
“The cake was sweet, Richard. But the truth tastes better. Meet me at the St. Jude Memorial Chapel at sunrise. Just you and me. Let’s finish what you started.”
