Chapter 9 - The Unbreakable Vow

Six months later, the Rossi estate was bathed in the warm, golden light of late spring.

The conservatory—once the site of violence, shattered glass, and blood—had been completely rebuilt. The glass panels were polished to a mirror finish, rare orchids bloomed in massive stone planters, and fairy lights were strung gracefully overhead among the iron rafters.

There were no media cameras. No mob bosses. No politicians with hidden agendas.

Just a hundred close friends, trusted business associates, and loyal staff members gathered beneath the soaring glass dome.

At the altar stood Dominic Rossi, clad in a flawless black tuxedo, his dark eyes fixed on the arched doorway with an intensity that brooked no argument from fate itself.

When the string quartet began to play a soft, classical melody, the heavy oak doors opened.

Skylar walked down the aisle.

She wasn't wearing a traditional white bridal gown that felt heavy or restrictive. Instead, she wore a custom-tailored, off-the-shoulder ivory silk pantsuit designed by one of Milan’s top couturiers, accentuating her height and her statuesque frame with effortless, undeniable elegance. The faint silvery scar on her cheek was visible, catching the afternoon sunlight like a subtle diamond.

She walked steadily, her head held high, the clumsy, terrified maid of eleven months ago completely gone, replaced by a woman who commanded the room simply by walking into it.

In the front row, Carmela sat wiping a tear of pure joy from her cheek with a lace handkerchief, smiling radiantly.

As Skylar reached the altar, Dominic stepped forward. He didn't wait for the officiant to prompt him. He reached out, taking both of her warm hands in his, his grip firm, grounding, and absolute.

"You look breathtaking," Dominic murmured, his voice thick with emotion.

"You don't look so bad yourself, Mr. Rossi," Skylar whispered back, a brilliant, genuine smile lighting up her face.

The ceremony was short, powerful, and binding—a solemn vow between two people who had survived the darkest corners of the underworld and emerged together.

When the officiant pronounced them husband and wife, Dominic didn't hesitate. He pulled Skylar into his arms and kissed her deeply, sealing a vow that no syndicate, no rival family, and no amount of broken china could ever break.
