Chapter 6 - The Confession of the Viper

Evelyn realized in that single, frozen moment that her meticulously constructed empire of lies had completely collapsed. The social standing, the multi-million-dollar prenuptial agreements, the luxurious penthouses, and the glittering galas she had fought so ruthlessly to secure were evaporating like morning mist under a blazing sun.
Desperation clawed at her throat, stripping away the veneer of aristocratic elegance that had fooled high society for years. She threw herself forward, ignoring the dirt on the marble floor, and grabbed the hem of Andrew’s tailored trousers, her manicured fingers digging into the fabric.
"Andrew, listen to me! It’s a lie! She’s a lunatic, a desperate impostor who somehow memorized family details!" Evelyn shrieked, her voice cracking with hysteria as tears of pure malice and fear streamed down her heavily contoured face, ruining her makeup. "Look at her face! It’s disfigured! She’s trying to steal your wealth because she knows you’re vulnerable! Don't let this pathetic wretch destroy everything we’ve built together!"
Andrew looked down at her with an expression of profound disgust, as if he were observing a venomous insect writhing beneath his shoe. He didn't flinch, nor did he offer a single word of comfort to the woman he had intended to marry in less than a month.
He simply raised his foot and stepped back, forcing Evelyn’s hands to slip away from his trousers as he distanced himself from her contamination. The silence in the hallway was absolute, save for the soft, steady weeping of the twin boys who had finally crawled into their mother’s lap, refusing to let go of her tattered gray uniform.
Sarah looked up at Evelyn, her scarred face bearing an expression not of triumph, but of profound, bone-deep pity—a look that cut Evelyn far deeper than any physical blow could have managed.
"You thought clothes, money, and titles could make you a mother," Sarah said softly, her voice carrying an eerie, resonant strength through the cavernous space. "You thought you could buy a family the way you buy art for the walls. But love isn't something you can steal, Evelyn. It’s something you earn through sacrifice. And you have never sacrificed a single thing for anyone in your life."
Evelyn snapped. The mask of sophistication shattered completely into a million jagged pieces, revealing the desperate, vicious narcissist underneath. She scrambled to her feet, her face contorted in a mask of pure hatred, pointing a shaking finger directly at Sarah’s scarred face.

"You should have died in that ditch!" Evelyn screamed at the top of her lungs, abandoning all pretense of innocence as her own confession echoed off the high vaulted ceilings of the grand hallway. "I paid the driver to make sure the brakes failed! I paid the coroner to fake the dental records! You were supposed to be rotting in an unmarked grave, you worthless piece of trash!"
The words hung suspended in the air, captured forever in the ringing acoustics of the mansion, sealing Evelyn’s fate beyond any shadow of a doubt. The head of security, standing near the entrance, turned pale as a sheet, realizing he was an accessory to attempted murder and conspiracy.
